Vijay Kumar has fetched India a Silver. It's first at the London Olympics, its second individual Silver in any Olympics in the last 100 years
As the Indian shooter took focused aim for his final series of five shots in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event today, he knew even a perfect five would not fetch him the Gold. The difference between him and Cuba's Leuris Pupo was unbridgeable. Seconds ago Pupo had shot a five to get him to an unassailable 34. (Congratulate Him)
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Defence Minister AK Antony today joined Vijay Kumar's family members in congratulating the Indian shooter for winning a silver medal at the London Olympic Games.
This was the country's fourth medal in shooting in Olympic history. The other medal winners are Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (silver in 2004 Athens), Abhinav Bindra (gold in 2008 Beijing) besides Narang.
All the very best Vijay and all the very best players who are participating in Olympics.
